Here it is – a new song by Sar Sargsyan. This time Sar is singing “I know I wasn’t for you” (Wiem, że nie byłem dla Ciebie), by well-known Polish artists: Władysław Eiger, who composed the music, and Zenon Friedwald, Joanna Kucharczyk who wrote the lyrics.
This is the second piece sung by Sar in Polish, plus it boasts a wonderful new arrangement by the renowned Armenian musician and composer, Alexandra Maghakyan. The score features the manjut (which translates as “Manuk’s violin”). Similar to the piccolo cello, the instrument has a unique form with no other comparison in the world. It has five strings and features the golden patterns of various classical and national string instruments. The manjut fragment is played by the creator of the instrument and an outstanding Armenian musician, Manuk Harutyunyan, who also developed many other Armenian folk instruments. Mixing and mastering was performed by Miqayael Margaryan. The vocal recording was made at Delphy Records in Warsaw, and the duduk recording was made at MI-Production in Yerevan.
We are extremely grateful to all those in Armenia and Poland who made this recording possible, and who supported Sar throughout the process.
